Well like me you are probably fed up of seeing repaints for the default FS2000 Concorde everywhere but not being able to download a proper Concorde. Well i will give you a link to download the best downloadable Concorde built from scratch i've ever flown - www.fsfrance.com. First of all unless you understand french change the language to english and go to the patch section at the bottom and choose what you want to download. No need for those credit cards it's freeware. It's even got 3D afterburners and windscreen wipers and transparant windows, fully detailed 3D cockpit and i think if you have Active Camera 2004 you should be able to walk around the inside. But the detail comes at a price, if you want smooth frame rates because of the immense detail - i hope you have a good graphics card!!
My personal rating for this aircraft 10/10. PS did i mention real world flight dynamics too !!!!!! also many different liverys |

Excellent site and even I managed the download. I also did the patches and only problem is I still seem to have an Electical and Hydraulics fault which stops the engines from starting up - unless of course I am a complete numpty and need to do something else. All set and ready to go - ATC gives clearance but cant get engines to fire !!
Sorry to burden you guys with such easy fixes but help !!!

Of course not, as you know the default FS2002 aircraft have there engines started by default when you load a flight. But (and correct me if i'm wrong)
some developers design there aircraft so the engines are shutdown as they would be in real life.
But know doubt someone will correct me on this. I had the same problem so i pressed ctrl + F4 to enrich fuel mixture and then crtl + E to start, they started fine. Oh and i will give you link for a De Havilland Comet 4C engine sounds, i have got them running with my Concorde and they are brill!!
This link will also take you to an aircraft add-on site that may also interest you.

Andrenaa,
Makes sense - guess the only question now is "How do I fire the engines?"
There must be something on the panel - switch for engine start up ?? The panel near the top of screen has engines 1-4 but no sign of start up. Have you added the New Panel - it doesnt have self extraction so I was a bit nervous doing it myself?
Regards,

Did you download the Concorde panel off the same site? If not what panel are you using?
Anyway here's that link in case you manage to fix it:
http://www.maltbyd.fsnet.co.uk/html/sounds.htm
Just try my theory and i'm sure it will work, it did with me anyway.
As far as i know i didn't press any switch, i'll just load up FS2002 now and see what i did.......be right back. |

| Yep, just tested it and it works. The engines shut down so i pressed ctrl + F4 then i pressed ctrl + E. Oh and just incase you didn't know shift + F4 is reheat to give the Concorde it's impressive power on takeoff and when speeding to Mach 2. |

I took a look at the key commands on the panel and sure enough it told me C+E !! just goes to show - read the manual !!!!
Thanks - I did have small problem though - only fire one engine and managed to head straight for Control Tower - ooops !! I needed to set all four !! Thx for the F4 tip - if I ever get off ground !!
Good to talk - thanks

It is a hard aircraft to fly and can't help you in that department (sorry). But with practice you'll get better. |
