Kneeboard for the C-172 says 60-70 KIAS Flaps down. I use 70 KIAS with 20 degrees of flaps. Normally, you don't need full flaps. For a full flap(short field) landing, use 60-65 KIAS.

Not sure about the A321 but 145-150 KIAS should work well, depends on aircraft weight. Check Kneeboard for speeds. Smile

Yea i used to belly flop the planes too but i was able to land my first boing 747-400....you cant go slower than 225 on landing though.....but to avoid bellyflops the flaps are perfect! They slow the plane down and kinda give you an "updraft" so when you land, its a nice, smooth landing. For the Airbus i land it at around 180kias and the cessna around 70mph.

    !!Hope this helps!!

p.s. like the other person said, if u check the kneeboard/referance part it tells you the proper landing and takeoff speed for your aircraft.

In the Cessna, I come it at 65-70 knots.

    A321, I fly in around 130-135 knots.

Then again, I like high, very low speed approaches!
