Get hold of a good tutorial and let it guide you. The posky tutorial has been popular for a long time. At Nemesiscom is a more recent tutorial that uses PSP7. In fact if you go back to Nemesiscom where you got your paintkit from go to the home page and then look for REPAINTING (Tutorials and Workshop). It's all there.
You'll be needing DXTBMP as well, available here:
