Finally!!!!! 😀 Now I can add that to my collection....after I fly it! 😎

i just flew it. it took me forever to get it off the ground. at 45,000 ft, i never saw more than around 300 kias. certainly not supersonic. maybe it's something i was doing wrong, but i have props that are faster than that.

Rodney Jacobs (GundamWZero) Captain

Yeah......it was loud, but it was SLOW!!!!! Very unstable when landing; you gotta really throttle up when landing because when you drop the nose to see the runway you increase the flaps as well. It'll stay in the hanger until I decide to try it again. Might be a while......

According to the Readme file the Model is by "Model By: Razgriz_10000 Eric Buchmann" and the Textures by: "Textures By: Team at https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2617/fs2004-fsx-concorde-collection/"

Come on guys, even a noob knows that it's not easy to make a model. On that note, google for Eric Buchmann and you'll see the contributions he's made for FS so far.

More from the Readme:

VERY IMPORTAINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF FOR SOME REASON YOUR CONCORDES ENGINES WONT START DO THIS:

GO TO FREE FLIGHT AND PICK AN AIRCREATION ULTRALIGHT AND FLY IT SOMWHERE (DOSENT MATTER)
THEN ONCE YOUR FLYING SHUT THE ENGINE OFF ON THE ULTRALIGHT THEN TURN IT BACK ON. ONCE THE ENGINE IS BACK ON, EXIT THE FLIGHT. THEN GO TO PICK THE CONCORDE AND NOW WHEN YOU FLY IT THE ENGINES SHOULD BE RUNNING!!!!! Sorry about the that but i dont think its to much extra work, besides if you dont like it then just get rid of it but i dont see many other concordes for FSX out there!!! So anyways i hope you enjoy my work, and feel free to visit my web site:

For those who're not aware of this: A whole team was working on this Concorde, though the panel was never finished. Now with the event of FSX, gauges have become a major issue -- and the Concorde has many.
But hey, there's always some whizz kid who by just looking at it manages to make it compatible with FSX.

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my full admiration 👏

Actually, 300 KIAS at FL450 is a 617 KTAS or Mach 1.07.

Guest

I managed get it up to about mach 1.5 at FL450, but anything over it will give an ovespeed warning

Eric Buchmann Guest

the concorde when a 60,000ft may only be traveling at 400kts (airspeed) but thats = to 1,200kts ground speed

Eric Buchmann Guest

thats why it seems so slow and im working on an updated version for fsx and it will be on simviation in a few days, and remember, the credit goes to fsfrance.com for making the concorde, i just updated it!!!

Eric Buchmann Guest

and if you want a certain plane that you dont see on any site, go to www.freewebs.com/fsxaddons and that will tell you how to suggest planes! hope you enjoy my work!

Eric Buchmann Guest

The Cocnorde is ment to fly at 60,000ft. and at 60,000ft your indicated airspeed should be 403kts

Eric Buchmann Guest

Not at 45,000ft like you guys think, thats why you get overspeed warnings
60,000ft!!!!

KrisC445 Guest

If you'll check I gave you the file name in the first post.
Search for it at flightsim, linking there is not feasible.

It says on the site:

I'm Retireing
I officiallyfficialy anounce my retirement from doing planes for FSX! Just for a little background, I've been doing addons for friends ever since FS2002. It wasnt till about 6 months ago I decided to try a web site, but I'm tired of all the emails that request like 7 planes and then I dont even get a thank you, plus Microsoft's constant pushing to try and stop us modelers. So yes, after 5 years of makeing planes, at no value to me, I'm Moving on to more usefull hobbies. So sorry if this effects you in a bad way but...oh well. Now you may still see me on FSX occasionaly and you may see a few more planes by me but I'm no longer taking requests, all other planes I do will be for my own value. So sorry but I guess this is

Well if you put it that way.

I found out from someone on Flightsim.com forums, to get the gauges going is to copy the entire Gauges folder that is in Fsxconcorde.zip file to main Gauges folder in FSX, then delete all the gauges from that but do not remove these gauges.

737-400.omi.gau, AutoBurner.zip, CONCORDE.zip, F16.gau, and gps2.gau

These should get the cockpit going enough to fly it.

You still have start your engine via the Ultralight then back to the Concorde. I wish there was a way to make the airplane work the way others do with Ctrl+E. I guess it has to do with the .cfg file, right?

Your Welcome. I started a thread a month or so ago on the Concorde, and I never the answer that I never got from Flightsim, so thats why I didn't think of sharing. Wink J/k

Hey Eff, wanna help me figure out why this plane doesn't start engines when you do Ctrl+E? It starting to bug me that you have start it with the Ultralight then to the Concorde.

I sure wish I could help you. I'm still having problems landing a C172. Maybe an Ultralight that could go as fast as the Concorde would be the answer. 😉 Good luck.

Gents, there are many aircraft that won't let you start the engine(s) with Ctrl+E - the developers of those a/c make you go through the start-up sequence for added realism. I haven't tried this in FSX but it'd be worth a try that when the engines are running, pause the flight and make it one of your 'Saved Flights'. Give it a name you'll remember such as 'Concorde/engines on'. Next time you select that flight you might just hear the sweet sound of the engines.

Hi Art,

your honesty is to be commended. I'm willing to wager my earthly possessions that you are by far not the only one. That C172 takes forever to get near ground level - what's the fun in that.
Granted, to fly these Cessnas by the numbers in flightsim might be beneficial for the serious future real life pilots... but why torture yourself when your ambition in life is no longer to become a 747 pilot?

You might find this incredulous but to land one of those fast WWII single prop warbirds is much easier.

...oh yes, it's fun too 😀

Been there done that.. Doesn't work. Only saves the aircraft and location.

If you're good at writing batch files then that might be a good idea. If you're not and you've never done it before, here's a lovely little tutorial: http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~ak621/DOS/BatBasic.html
...and I know you'll hate me forever.

Pro Member First Officer
art lippel (effieveda) First Officer

Hi Tailhook, thanks for the compliment. I always try to be honest. Truth be told, I'm getting fairly good at getting the Cessna down - my biggest problem seems to be lining up with the runway. It seems as though everything is OK, flaps down, speed just above stall, and then I see the runway. Either I'm off center or on the wrong heading. That's when the fun begins. I usually find myself flailing away with the joystick in those last few moments before I touch down, or I end up going around. I must be horizontally challanged or something. Oh well, practice, practice, practice.

By they way, we're so off topic. I think maybe we should start a new thread. 🙄

Best regards ... Art

I've edited my original message about gauges, and what to do with them, in my reply to Eff. It didn't maskes to me, so it probably didn't make sense to you, so I fixed it. Wink
