Yes IC there are many others who have the same wish as I do. IfI new how to do this I would have made one once I saw the movie but my programing and skinning is not worth thinking about. Yet that is...
The thing that will be hardest about this plane is that in order to keep it real it will first need the proper cockpit but to add to this we will need all the same systems for it to keep it realistic and fun. The other thing I have noticed with other peoples work is that they tend to not work out the engines right. When you have a very powerful aircraft something very fast they tend to be too fast then what the plane can take in game. This will probebly be the hardest part seeig that the plane can move at mach at will and fly across the world in just minutes. How wil it be possbale to even setup a plane for fs2004 to behave like that in game with out getting fubared?
Anyway just some info to think about... |

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, here's another surprise from the FSX SDK (copied):
"[folding wings]
This section describes the folding wing characteristics of the aircraft. Note that these are folding wings used to store an aircraft more compactly when on the ground, or on deck, and not the variable sweep wings used on some supersonic aircraft. Variable sweep wings are not supported in Flight Simulator X."
Therefore, I suppose a VG-winged aircraft will have to be made in the FS9-style and adapted accordingly. Not the end of the world, but makes one wonder what's going on with the changes in developing items for the new sim. I've pulled quite a few hairs out already.
OOPS - just realized this was in the FS9 section, my bad. Well, in case someone is planning to develop something compatible between the two sims, it might be worth considering... _________________ _______________________

i have the movie on dvd. i bought it because it has planes in it. honestly, the best thing about that movie is jen garner.
however, there is one peice of dialog i did get a chuckle out of.
Tim: [referring to EDI] He a... downloads songs from the web.
Lt. Ben Gannon: Yeah, how many?
Tim: All of them.
Lt. Ben Gannon: [laughs] Well you're in a pack of trouble with the record companies there, son. |

Alright. Since I am the one who actually do the digging, this is what I am tracking from Xplane.org. I used to have this program, but I have sinced uninstalled it. However I have read somewhere that you can add Xplanes aircraft in FSX and FS9.
Here is the site: http://www.lwg3d.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29739
Give props to this guy. He is busting his ass on this one. _________________ "In the absence of orders, find something and kill it." - Erwin Rommel |
