First off, let it be known, it is a good site. I'll give them that.

I have the same problem here too; no reply to emails to Fly Away, as to how to cancel, but I do have this to pass along, from my paypal info. (see below).

I am curious to know why anyone would subscribe for a whole year at $5 per month (12 x 5= $60) when I may only visit and log in/ download one or two times a year. I could and can just cancel and RENEW at $5 for a total of only $10- 15 dollar a year in this case, (saving 50 -75% or more).

I also have a hard copy here, taken from Fly Away website pages, where on the website it said "$5 lifetime membership" so why the $5 per month.

I asked and there again no reply from any emails sent to Fly Away. Oh well, I'll just subscribe, cancel, subsrcibe and cancel and so on as needed.

    Cancelling Your Subscription-----------------------------------------------------

If you would like to cancel this subscription, log in to your PayPal account and go to the "History" subtab of the "My Account" tab. Choose "Subscriptions" from the pull-down "Show" menu and press the "Submit" button. Choose this subscription, and click on its "Details" link. You will be taken to a Transaction Details page from which you may cancel your subscription. Cancelling your subscription will immediately stop all future scheduled payments for this subscription. Sincerely,PayPal

OR Call PAYPAL direct. The number can be found under 'contact us' , by phone, from the paypal website. I did this and it was done instantly.

avsim has a good file library, no doubt. but there is no question it is also the meanest forum in the flight sim hobby.

Shocked I thought it was a one time fee as well. I had visited the site a few months ago and read the details. Once i got my FSX machine running i just subscribed and didn't realize it had gone monthly. Thats quite the cost increase! especially when the content you get is potluck and may or may not work!!

As far a dowloads for fs go, this site isn't too good. However, it has one of the best forums for fs on the web, so its worth the money for that.
