Sounds like the pilot was a bit of a hero keeping it airborne long enough to clear the carparks and a busy road

    Possible complete engine failure?

According to the pilots all the power went out and the gear just fell off the aircraft. That's weird! Shocked

    HOLY CRAP!!!!!

You all are gonna think me to be completely nuts... but I dreamed this exact same thing a couple nights ago! Only difference is I could not identify the airport or airline. but the same exact thing happened in my dream, and I saw it all. freaky huh?

I am glad they made it (relatively) safely. A 777, this could have gotten REAL BAD real quick!

Someone buy those pilots a drink, and up their pay.

Too early to even speculate. Strange that they lost power to both engines. I think there is more to this story. Here is a news article with more info.

you see where they were talking about landing flaps too... I have experienced similar in FS9... but if that is the case that is pilot error... and even though everyone walked away from it... he'd be in deep doodoo.

Very curious accident indeed... at least it was not terrorists.

It had RR engines. Looks lilke there was no response when the autopilot requested power from the engines. I'd find it very suprising if it was a fault with the engines themselves as neither of them responded.

My guess is a fuel system issue.
