i don't think 12 is too early at all. the truth is, if you do a job you really love, you'll be succsessful. it doesn't matter what that job is. i know several people who have enjoyed enviable success because they loved what they were doing so much it was nearly impossible for them to fail.
do what you love, the money will come eventually, or you'll decide it isn't that important.
