I'm having problems with my 9600 256mb card Crying or Very sad Mad everything was running fine the first day i had it but now every time I run fs9 after about half a hour it freezes up and a warning message appears saying something about VPU recover and about it not running normally any more Mad.I have tried everything to my knowledge d/loading new drivers, reinstalilng fs9,deleting the old drivers have also tried reinstalling XP(which takes ages) nothing has worked and it was all a waste of time.Help would be very much appreciated.

It's the new drivers for your card that's causing the problem.
Go to ATI and download older drivers, I think there were a 4.1 driver, use it and make certain that you have cleaned out the old drivers before loading the new ones.
Reload DirectX 9.0c in case it became corrupted and use the old control panel for your card instead if the new one and that crummy .Net from MS.
Let us know how you do.

Forget that message you didn't touch the VGA drivers. Just "do your thing".
Uninstall the video drivers in "safe mode" if you have to then go back to Windows and install the video drivers.
When you reboot Windows should forget about the VGA drivers.
If you uninstalled the video drivers already which ones are you running the card on.
You can find out by going to /start/run/and type in dixdiag, that'll tell you what drivers are loaded and you can test them there also.

They usually put old drivers on the disk, how are they working.
If you keep having problems you can run it in the Window mode (Alt+Enter) it should run better there for now.

You can find out by going to /start/run/and type in dixdiag, that'll tell you what drivers are loaded and you can test them there also.

Don't forget you have to go to the control panel to uninstall the old drivers in "Add or Remove" programs.

    ATI Confused
I know very little about ATI vid cards.but I do know that OMEGA do tweaked drivers for ATI
Select ATI then your windows version from the top and it should present you with some "modified" drivers Arrow

    http://www.omegadrivers.net/

they are certainly worth a try

Note they also do NVidia drivers which I use Thumbs Up!

I still don't know which drivers you are using but it may not be the drivers after a half an hour.
It may be overheating, that usually causes crashes after a period of time.
Take the side of your case and run the sim for a long time.
If it doesn't crash then you can add a $10 fan in the rear and that will cure the problem.
I hope you clean the inside of your computer occasionally, especially the CPU fan. The fans pick up quite a bit of dust.
Try that, and let us know how you do.
