I have been running two monitors off one Nvidia fx5900 for some time now, and have gotten really spoiled. So I wanted to go to 3 or 4 monitors. I got a nvidia MX4000 PCI card and installed it, however the machine just freezes when something is tried with it. I did think a random video card brough home would do it, but.... SO, what can I do to get r monitors at once, doing four different things from one CPU?
Thanks for any assistance. |

The newest drivers that your good card needs may be too much for the old card to handle, a problem.

I had a simular experience with ATI 700 Pro cards Two monitors on one card works just fine. Went for 4 with 2 Cards. Crash, Crash, Crash. So tried using one monitor on each card on the primary ports. Guess what that works just fine as well. So OK turn on and add one more monitor on the secondary port of the primary card --- Crash, Crash. You can set it up and take off and before you hit 500 ft AGL - Crash, black screen!
I think I have tried all combination, No Luck!!!

Mattlee - any chance you can offer advice to a twin-monitor user?
I have an X700 PCI-E card which works in WinXP with "Extend my desktop onto the second monitor" fine.
I can't get FS2004 to display on the 2nd monitor at all though, it just displays a desktop. How'd I get it to work? |
