Does anyone know where I can download (and name of file) a good Aircraft Carrier and Aircraft (F18 or F14) with tail hooks for doing takeoff and landings on the Aircraft Carrier. I am using FS 2004. Thanks.. |

Hello, how about having your aircraft carrier sail the seas ?
I found this file over at www.flightsim.com called "ai ships.zip" and it gives you tips and tricks for adding your own shipping lanes any where in fs9
I have not tried this and would like know how you get on if you go for it
Good luck and Happy landings/sailings |

As an old salt myself, I think it would be interesting to try landing on a carrier. I will check this out when I have time. Thanks all.

In FS 2004 the aircraft carrier "Kitty Hawk" , CVN 63, is anchored and/or dead in the water a couple of miles outside San Francisco Bay. I flew a Piper Cub out to look it over. There are no aircraft on the flight deck and no sign of any crew onboard. I don't know if it has usable arresting wires for your tail hook aircraft. It probably doesn't have a usable VASI or electronic glide slope, so you would have to land all on your own. I was tempted to try landing the Cub on the Kitty Hawk, then decided to do it another day. |

No, it doesn't have arresting wires, VASI or glide slope. You can land a small plane on it it (I've done with a Cessna 172 and a helicopter) but you've got to come in very slow, or you'll roll right off the other end.
