Can anyone point me to addon aircraft that have interactive 3D "virtual" cockpits?

I'm looking for the Pipers (Arrow III, Warrior III, Navajo, etc....)

Doesn't matter if they are payware or not.

    Thanks

    Hi "New Guy",

I've been too busy lately to visit these forums much, but I'm here tonight for a few minutes, and noticed your message. There are many planes I have yet to acquire, but so far, I've been very happy with the offerings of Flight One and Dreamfleet. You can purchase all these planes at the Flight One site:

    http://www.flight1.com/

These are the planes I have from Flight One/Dreamfleet:

    • Piper Archer II

If you get the Archer II, be sure also to get Peter McLeland's freeware "Bandit Kit" enhancement of the Archer II. Here's Peter's site:

    http://petersfiles.o-connor.net/logbook/logbook_001.htm

Click on the "Links" button at Peter's site, and you'll see the "Bandit Kit" download link. This kit is freeware, but it only works with the payware Archer II from Dreamfleet.

I've tried several of the freeware Piper "Cherokee class" planes, and so far, none of them is really comparable to the Dreamfleet Archer II in my opinion.

Here are my other planes from Flight One/Dreamfleet:

    • Piper Meridian
    • Cessna 152
    • Cessna 177 "Cardinal"
    • Cessna 421 "Golden Eagle"
    • Cessna 441 "Conquest II"

These are all great planes, but I must add a small caveat...

The Cessna 441 "Conquest II" is my latest acquisition, and I must say that I feel it's at a slightly lower level of overall quality than all the others. This is, of course, just my opinion. My other twin engine is the Cessna 421, and I personally prefer it over the C441.

I'm extremely pleased with all my Flight One/Dreamfleet planes, and would recommend all of them (well, as I said, I might recommend the C441 a little less highly...though I do still enjoy flying it).

I'm thinking that my next plane acquisition will be the "Super Decathalon" by RealAir Simulations:

    http://www.realairsimulations.com/msfs-aircraft/decathlon/index.html

I do have the freeware "Super Decathalon" from FlightFactory Simulations, and it's fun to fly, but I've been told that the Super Decathalon from RealAir is better. Since I really like what RealAir did with their freeware enhancement of the fs2004 default C172, I have a good feeling about their Super Decathalon. I'll come back here after I get it and post a little review. Could be a week or two before I get it.

If you do want to try the freeware Super Decathalon, it's here:

    http://www.flightfactory-simulations.com/decathalon.php

I've got to go do other things now, but I wanted to mention these few planes that I really like.

Enjoy your flight simming! Very Happy

    Hi RadarMan,

I would only add the following caveat...

Though not necessarily always a problem, we do need to always be aware of the FS version a particular add-on plane claims to be created for...or at least compatible with. The "Arrow III" you mentioned does claim to be for "fs2002", and there's no mention of fs2004 compatibility.

Over the past several months, I've had various little - or bigger - problems when installing and trying to fly planes created for fs2002 in my fs2004. Sometimes, it's just a matter of adding an "[Old Modules]" entry in the fs9.cfg file to stop the warning about the old "fssound.dll":

    [OLDMODULES]
    FSSound.dll=1

...Other times, a prop or some bit of missing landing gear might be missing, gauges may be missing or malfunctioning, funky flight dynamics might be an issue, etc. It could be just about anything.

After too many such experiences, I'll now only install add-ons that positively claim fs2004 compatibility.

Back to the original query...I'd still recommend DreamFleet's Archer II for the best Cherokee class Piper add-on. It's certainly better than all the freeware planes of this class I've tried...even if it's not exactly a "Warrior" or "Arrow".

    Sorry about any confusion! Confused
