FS2004 major problems

Hello all:
Just bought fs9 and what a mess! dxdiag says everything is fine, but frame rate is very slow and jerky - as if there's a hardware conflict somewhere, but every system test says all's okay. Game goes to black screen and sends error report. I've adjusted every setting and even on minimal settings it's very jerky.
Also, is there any way to copy disk 4 to the HD so loading various files, etc. is faster and I don't have to insert the CD every time I run the game?

system: p4 1.8g; 512ddr; S3 built on the mobo, 32mb ddr shared. VIA north & south chipset.

your a bit on the LOW side as far as graphics go.Do you have a AGP slot or PCI slot free(Really need to up the graphics)
You could try shutting every non essental prog down to help out a bit
As for cd4 grab rhe nocd fix from the download section on this site, its under utillities

I personably think it is "not so bad " for a video card like you have. I had the same problem and very soon I had to install a video card on the AGP slot. (I had a slot like that)
If it is a shared memory video card you can try to increase the memory above 32 MB. I don't think it is absolute solution but may help a little.

FS 2004 is a pretty heavy program when it comes to graphics. I have a dell 8200 2.4 gig 256 ram 64 mg card. I can maintain 20 fps with some weather, but it starts to bog down when I add more than 2 layers of clouds. I like the realism of heavy weather, but need a better graphics card for it to run smooth.

The problem is that every thing else is great but when i usually put a lot of stress on fs9 the screen goes black and sends an error massage stating that there a device failure and i should reboot my computer..please help if there is something to do....

Your machine is fine but you video card is inadequate.
Your best bet is to move all the slides to the left, turn off aircraft shadows, clouds, water reflections, put as little a strain on you card as possible.
If it still is "jerky flying" turn off some of the programs in the background, that should help also.

My system info is it is a dell gx270 256mb ram and an intel graphics prcessor with intel pentium 4 and the operating system is windows xp...

Is it possible to change my video card then if it is then please not to me what kind it should be

You need at least 512mb ram, double what you have.
You have (I believe) an integrated (on board) graphics card. That means it's built into the motherboard of the computer.
TomTheTank tells you how to get rid of it (after you buy a new one) in this post, check both below.
We also talk about two different brands of video cards. Nvidia and ATI. I have an ATI.
You have to check and see if your computer has an AGP socket on the motherboard and if it's at least an 4x.
You can call Dell or run this app to see which board you have.

Yes that is an "on board or integrated card", that means that it is built into the mother-board. TTT gives you instructions on how to disconnect it and put a better card in it's place.
You have too little memory now without an onboard card sucking more out of it.

Thanks,i have bought an mti 128ddr,8x video card with a 512 mb Ram
And it really helped on the speed and graphics which helped to stop that
error massage.....
