Building your own control stations

Hello all.

I am somewhat aquainted with electronics, and have a question.

I was looking at ELITE Simulation Solutions website tonight, and
am drooling over their ELITE Pro Panel II Flight Console:

However, the $2200 price tag really takes me back!!

To that I would also like to add the ELITE AP-3000 Digital Avionics Panel

Again, the $2000 price tag is too much to swallow.

Now, down to my question. Is it possible to build these pieces
of equipment yourself?? Over $4200 is way more than I want
to spend, seeing as how I am only in the "fun" stage of Flight Sim.

The far out price is one thing that keeps me from obtaining my
real Private Pilots License. Plus, family history of heart disease, and
my own High Blood Pressure may prevent me from getting the
necessary medical clearance to fly. So, the only way for me is
Simulation.

I think that this might be your best bet for finding out about building your own cockpit.
Be sure to come back and tell us and show us some photos of how your progressing.
I'm certain that some others might be interested in doing the same as you if the price is right.
