I'm not sure but I think this message usually comes up when FS tries to access RAM that is being used by the operating system Wink

    Two things.
1 Dump your cookies and run this free spyware download.
    http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Then go here and run this free scan from MS.
    http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

2 Open your case and clean out the dust from your fans, pay close attention to the dust in the heatsink fan.

Let us know how you do.

Confused Well i have tryed all the things that you sent me links to and also cleaned all the internal parts to my computer but the problem is still there further information to my first post may help you to help me solve this problem??.
PC_Cillin internet Security 2006 (with all the latest updates).
I switch this off before running FS2002 i also disconnect the modem i have nothing running in the back ground as this computer is used by the hole family is it worth loging on as a differant user ?? I have also tried lowering the graphics by 2 notches still with no success I also reboot the system before loading the game but that does nothing i have also defragmented. The windows XP Home Edition also has the latest updates SP2 etc etc all the hardware has the latest up dates aswell i have been to the Microsoft 2002 web page and reading over what they suggest doing i may as well throw my computer out and start again with a brand new one or just simply un-install the programe and perhaps play Mah_jongg ?? the joystick i am using or should i say not yet using is a logitech Force 3d pro before buying this game i checked out all the specs on the box and the system i have does meet all the system requirements is it worth me buying a new graphics card as i am getting very bloody angry with the hole thing.
Looking at my Device Manager Window i seem to have my Sapphire Radeon 9200SE showing up twice one says.
Sapphire Radeon 9200SE Atlantis and the second one says.
Sapphire Radeon 9200SE Atlantis_Secondary these have always been there not sure why but they are?? however no conflicts are showing and they both have the latest drivers etc.
Any help anyone can give me would be great
    yours in anticipation woody 46

I find your card listed as both a 64 bit and a 128 but whichever it is it's a fairly old card and I would either replace it with a newer one or try older drivers.
Usually the older cards can't do well with new drivers. I use older ones myself for a ATi Radeon 9800 Pro 128.

They always show up twice, not a problem.

You seem to be doing everything correctly.

You can use a program like this to shut down some of the background programs if you like.
    http://www.docsdownloads.com/enditall-1.htm

Nothing short of a clean install of Windows and reinstalling the sim as the last resort seems to be the only other answer I can think of.
Let us know how you are doing, good luck with it.

Confused Firstly thanks for your replies. I have now tried the older drivers with no success so my next move is to update my card but i need a little help on this??. The motherboard and AGP card on my system are as follows:
ASUS P4SE With a Celeron (r) CPU 2.70 GHz And 768MB of Ram.
http://www.baber.com/motherboards/asus/asus_p4se.htm This is a link to the exact one on my computer. The next link is to my card a Radeon 9200se agp only.
    http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9200/radeon9200/compare.html
The question i have is what card will my motherboard work with.
Does it have to be an AGP or will it take PCI also what sort of speed will work ie 128ram or 256ram AGP 4x or AGP 8x This is a complete gray area for me i have looked at a couple of cards one of which is a Ge_Force 6200 the other is a Ge-Force 6600 but i just dont know if these will work with the motherboard and the sim game or do i need to buy a new motherboard aswell. hope you can help me out with these questions many thanks woody46

PCI cards are all old and not much better than what you have now. You have a good CPU and just about enough ram (you can never have enough ram for this sim).

If you want to run a diagnostic on your machine to see how it is running go to www.pcpitstop.com for a free one, very trusted site. I've been using it for may years.

Also you can get all the specs of your computer by running this free tool.
    http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

You can test for your card at here.
    http://www.crucial.com/store/listmfgr.asp?cat=Video+Card

Ge-Force 6600 I would go with this one. It's not the latest but it's much better than the other.
    http://www.nextag.com/geforce-6600/search-html

    Ge_Force 6200
    http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_attrib.php?page_id=5&form_keyword=geforce+6200&mode=g_us_e_s&skd=1&rd=1

Let us know how you are doing.

I have been looking at the results of the card scan and it comes up with mainly (all) Radeon AGP Cards looking at them and other ones that seem equivelant on the web. The main question i have is what card is better??. the scan shows my existing card and a couple of others which are.
    Radeon x800 GTO AGP
    256 GDDR3 Memory.
    400MHz core frequency.

    Radeon X1600 PRO 512 AGP.
    512 DDR2 Memory
    500MHz core frequency.

    Radeon x1300 AGP
    256 GDDR3 Memory.
    450MHz core frequency.
Looking around all the differant cards is it better to have more memory or more core frequency as every card i have looked at has differant specs i have been told the higher the core frequency the better and not to bother to much with the memory is this correct if so what sort of core frequency speed would play sim 2002 and 2004.
Again many thanks for all your help regards woody46

As you see below that how I would rate the cards if I were choosing from those three. Be careful that you don't buy a PCIE, you may not have a socket for it.

Read this chart over, they are very good judges.

Thanks for the reply looks like i will be shopping around at the weekend??.
I might look for a card AGP (not PCIE) that has about 256MB of DDR memory.
Also around 450MHz core frequency this seems to be a middle of the road card which should do the job of running flight sim 2002 and i might be lucky and find it runs 2004 aswell ??.I will get back to you when i have installed the card to let you know how things are going.

Don't let them fool you when they say it has 256mb. It can be much less, pro's have been fooled by that.
Check the price of it if it's too low then it's too good to be true.
Also check some of the major review sites like Tomshardware, guru3D or Cnet to see what they think of the card.

Thanks for the sites i will check them out .
I thought i would send a couple of error re-ports and see what they had to say.
1st one said it could be my BIOS.
2nd one said it may be my c-media player.
Not a lot of help but worth a try??.
    all the best woody46.

Always try every place that can help, even if it's from MS. Rolling Eyes

You don't happen to have IE Beta 7 installed do you.
