Awesome shots GM. What kind of frame rates were you getting on those settings - was it a smooth ride? And do you think that just maybe you could... use your awesome machine to take some screens of Atlanta/Hartsfield Intl. Maybe? |

Excellent captures GM72
I can see some art work coming our way now that your FSX has arrived.
I'm happy you've finally got it. |

Its not a super machine ryane.Maybe a middle one but definitely not a super.Since its already too late in my Time Zone i promise your shots for tomorrow.I also didn't check the FPS(I will never do it even to FS9 )But i ll check it too tomorrow. My guess is that it is not going to be an impressive number...We shall see though.
Thanks for you comments. _________________

Great shots, GM, so glad to see you've finally gotten it!! Look forward to seeing many more from you.
The first thing that struck me was not having f1 view also. You'll get used to it fairly quickly, though.

In addition to being very pleasant to view, GM's screen shots will have the effect of quieting the chorus that blames FSX for the inadequacies of their computers. _________________ CrashGordon

If you could run FSX with such detail on your current rig, I'm getting the same video card you're using. Did you go for the fanless Quiet Heatsink model or the one with the built-in fan? How much did you spend for that GFX card by the way? |

This is my GFX
http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=2&l2=7&l3=3&model=992&modelmenu=1
I bought it before 4months in the price of 185euros(Greece)
Keep on mind that my shots are editing.I resize them(800x600) and i increase the sharpenes about 30-40% from the original one.Increasing the sharpness and rezising brings better result to a screenshot.
Check the following example.
Original(Sorry for the size)
Editing(Resizing-Sharpness Increasing)
Also you have to count the fact that ,with this system, in high detail areas, as big cities or busy airports, i have some kind of freezing in smooth runnning with Autogen to High.

Thanks! 'Coz I'm currently in the process of building a new rig and I don't wanna waste my money on a lousy graphics card. The new 8800 DX10 Series GFX cards are good but they're well-beyond my budget.
Another ASUS GFX card I'm considering is this:

By the way, what's your average framerate on FSX with your rig?[/url] |

Not too much...About 13-17 fps which dramatically decreasing to 8-10 in high density areas.
As a conlusion is that my Set-Up is at the limits if you want to have your Slidders to MAX.I already plan my upgrade but not before spring time.

Lets do a comparison. This is proof that good graphics card are a vital part of performance and looks. I use to get 5 to 12 FPS. Now I get 10 to 39 fps.
My FSX with an Intel 64mb card.
And FSX with my new ATI 9250 256mb card
First one is in Santa Cruz, Bolivia
2nd one is in Friday Harbor, Washington
