Evening gents , i thought i may do a short tour (not sure yet) of places not normally seen on the usual sites...i.e a short tour across Russia and Eastern Europe. There are some very nice sceneries at Avsimrus so if i carry on there will be a few in here.
So we start at Malta with the Captain Sim C-130 (not all aircraft will be military) for the flight to Bucharest in Romania.
Engine start
Taxi out
Final checks
Rotate
Climbing out over Malta.....
.....and cruising to Romania
Turning onto final
The best seat in the house
Crossing the Motorway on approach (all that traffic is moving )....
And so are those birds behind me at touchdown
Taxi in to the military side of the airfield.....
.....and shutdown
Thanks for looking and hopefully the next commentary will be more interesting (i'm full up with a cold ). _________________

Just when we thought Welshflyer suffers from writer's block, has lost the edge or has given the game away all together, he surprises us with a masterpiece
This is different from anything else you've done previously and IMO every single pic is a treat. There is so much more in these screenies than first meets the eye, you deserve a medal for your effort to find all the files and put them together.
Now if only I could figure out how you got that propeller turning in the 3rd pic from the top

Time for the next leg gents , we depart Bucharest for Kirovograd in the Ukraine in an Antonov AN-12BK.
Sitting in the early morning just before loading..
..all loaded up we start engines..
...and taxi out past the civilian side of the Airfield...
..and then we're on our way to the Ukraine...
..so we began the descent..
...Now everyone was getting along, nobody was arguing and then this went and happened
..and i could'nt see a thing, just use your instruments i hear you cry...well, here's the thing as you can see it's all in Russian so i was winging it anyway, but the Altimeter is calibrated in metres and not feet so now i was really confused and could'nt see the ground for a reference , so i just lowered the gear and flaps and stayed like this..
..until a very nice voice started shouting 400 , then as you get with real world weather i burst into clear sunshine and managed to turn toward the airport (no ILS or any other landing aids), where i was just happy to get it down
and taxi it in.....
...shut it down aaannnnddd relax
Thanks for looking and the link for this scenery is

That AN-12BK looks like an owl homing in on its prey - stunning.
I don't think any of us are worried about you flying blind with gauges you can't read... the rumours have it you're flying even when you're asleep
Beautiful pics |

Gentlemen, thank you very much for your kind replies . I'm enjoying doing this sort of thing again and am trawling through hundreds of sceneries and aircraft to varying degrees of success, but that's the enjoyment (or part of it). The scenery in this next set is not the best i've seen but then again is not the worst i've seen either, but i just had to use it for a couple of aircraft parked in the background, which might give you a clue to the next aircraft. But before that we depart Kirovograd to Kipelovo just outside Moscow in the TU-124.
On a step ladder looking over some kind of garden shed to take a shot
Now we've walked around to the fence to get a better shot
Finally we've stopped mucking about with the camera, started the engines and begun to taxi
And we're off, i've got to admit the sound on this is veerry nice Oh and just a tip, check the runway length before you depart , as you can see i juuuust made it!
Climbing out..
...the obligatory cruise shot
We begin our descent into Kipelovo
Who needs FSX water?
Now did he say turn right or left and then report runway in sight?
He said right you %$&*
I only asked
Looking good...ish
we touch down nice and smooth, despite what it looks like
And taxi in.......
......past a couple of angry looking bears
Now that ladder fits just nice
OOOOOOhh another bear
.
Thanks for looking gents, i've got to own up, i had to substitute a different panel in this as there were no pop ups when placing the cursor over a switch and as yet my Russian is not so good and believe me it was all in Russian .
This is the link to the scenery
http://www.avsimrus.com/f/fs2004-sceneries-44/kipelovo-beta-2-15297.html?action=download&hl=kipelovo
I did find one for AI bears but i just can't get them to appear on the flightline and now i can't find it ! _________________

So....I take it your flying the plane whos props give off sonic booms every time they rotate and gave half of Siberia hearing problems??? ..... Sounds good if you ask me
And very very nice shots you have!!! The scenery links are much appreciated and I am downloading them now! _________________

Right gents, next we depart Kipelovo for Syktyvkar in the Komi republic in one of these
So we spool up the engines
and begin to taxi
It was here that i realised that i did'nt have any charts or a clue which way to go, so i saw a couple of blokes hanging around and pulled over..
..i opened the window and shouted "OI Ivan...Ivan.."
"Da" one of them replied, i said "which way to Syktyvkar?"
He said "How did you know my name was Ivan?"
"I guessed" i answered
"Well guess the f*^&%$£ way to Syktyvkar" he said
Charming
Ready to go...
...and on the way
Oooohhh now where's that window heat switch?
Quick, come on COME ON!
Ahh that's better
Now which way is it?
Any ideas Nav?
Safely en route...
...and descending
On approach
Arriving Syktyvkar
Taxi to the far side of the airport so we don't upset the natives ..
..and shut down
Thanks once again for looking and the scenery is here...
