Your ok for now but you'll need more ram when you change your OS to Windows Vista.
It alone needs 1 gig to run smoothly.

Most people estimate the minimum amount of RAM neccessary for Vista is 512MB. Of course, it probably needs at least 1 GB to run smoothly like you said but I don't think I need MORE RAM. The OS is stored on the hard drive not the RAM card. We'll just have to watch it play out.Wink

I was more concerned about my graphics card. I thought maybe I needed a 256 MB card. I think I'll be okay though, its a RADEON card so I have faith in it.

Also, when is DirectX 10 coming out? I heard there is supposed to be a 9.0d next...but I also heard that FSX only runs on DirectX10

The OS indeed is stored to the HD but datas transfer speed to your CPU is depending to RAM.

Have a look at the following

    http://www.webreference.com/graphics/column14/2.html

...and you will find that 1GB RAM isnt the same(feel)like 2GB.Except if we are secretaries and write word and excel...In this case yes 128MB is the same as 3GB because we will never use them. Wink But if you are a multitasker or a gamer ,the more RAM you have the less your system pushed for performance. Wink

Friendly and open to further discussion. Very Happy
