I was just wondering if anyone had this graphics card and what sort of graphics they got out of it. The reason i'm asking is becasue I though it was a not so good card but I got some real good graphics out of FS2002 and have just realised its only the 'mesh complexity' that's causing the scenery to flicker and flash.

I can have all the other sliders at pretty much maximum....but as soon as I put mesh complexity more that 5....I start having problems Confused

Is there any tweaks I can apply in my settings to get more out of this card??

    Thanks in advance Wink

I used to have this card, and played FS2004 quite well, however with the graphics set to minimum or near enough minimum. Now I have GeForce FX 5700 256 MB which is not bad when the graphics of FS2004 are set to Ultra-High. The actual scenery with the old card was, as you can expect, pretty shit, but for flying, it didn't make juddering at all with that old card.

Yeah...it is only the scenery. I'm happy with the detail of my craft and my flights are always smooth...and my weather sliders can be maxed out. Its just annoying that I had such good graphics with FS2002 i.e. an OLDER, less capable game and now my scenery takes me back to FS98.

I found this site that RM cited a year or so back:

    http://tomshardware.co.uk/2004/10/04/vga_charts_iv/page11.html

It shows you the different types of card, in a ranking order. You can get a new card that will benefit you quite a lot more for under £30:

    Geforce 5200:
    http://computing.kelkoo.co.uk/b/a/sbs/uk/compAccessory/type/Graphics+Card/name/128+mb+geforce+5200/100066213.html

A lot of the lower cards are going out of sale now as they bring out new cards and the previously newer cards become older.

A better card, the Geforce 5500:
    http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=304718&cks=ASS&assoc=D8029637-0DDA-48DA-9BA1-03B0D58EDEA7

There isn't too much you can do other than lower your settings to get your graphics card to run smoothly.

Hope it helps a bit Wink

I think they are. I installed some RAM earlier on this year, and it was very simple. Just slot it in, and start your computer up. The only difference with graphics cards are that you need to install some drivers (which you should get in a CD form with your graphics card, or you can download them) to get it running Wink

i have bad experiences changing graphics cards lol....its actually pretty simple but with my old system it caused soo much incompatibility that it ended screwing it up.
