Here in New Zealand, the South Island has been experienceing some pretty cold weather recently with over a metre of snow falling in some places
When I flew from Queenstown to Te Anau today, it started off with heavy snow but cleared up and allowed me to take the following few pictures as the sun set over the mountains below.
Enjoy the next 12 pictures. 5 of them are full sized and the other 7 are clickable thumbnails to save loading time!

Thank you very much Faucett, pilotwannabe, jolegg, Guest, Greekman and ranald!
The shots came out surprising well didn't they? I never set out to take screenies on that flight, but the sun seemed to compliment the photoreal pretty nicely (That should answer your question Faucett )
And for those who are wondering, this is not LOTR country. The movie was filmed mainly in the North Island, where as these shots are at the opposite end of the country. _________________
