    hi now i know this might be the same topic but do you guys or girls use auto pilot for speed ??? to keep it at say 200 knots??? Dont Know

    I don't use auto pilot at all. Once I reach the altitude I want and trim out the speed doesn't vary. But then I mostly fly light
    planes of years past.

    Hey Jester,

    It depends what Aircraft your flying.... most of the jets have an AutoThrottle, so when using these, I always keep my speed in check by using the Autpilot speed controls.

    Planes without an AutoThrottle (most props, but also 727, CRJ, BAe146) usually have no way of controlling speed using AutoPilot, except during descent, where the AutoPilot can limit the speed by managing the descent speed, through elevator pitch control.
