well, I don't really know how to describe this problem... FS9 has been running fine for some weeks but suddenly it won't start anymore Everytime I try to start it, I get an error message like this: saying the program has to be terminated because Panels.dll has lead to an error. I have no idea why this problem suddenly occurs, I've already tried five different Detonator Drivers but that does not fix the problem I'm using WinME.... any sort of help is appreciated! |

Why don't you load the Sim over itself in case anything is missing. If that doesn't work Quit all programs except Explorer and Systray, and see if the sim will work then.
You can use this program to shut everything down or just use Ctrl+Alt+delete.

I had ME once and you would be better off with XP-Home, you could just buy the upgrade and load it over ME.
ME leaks memory, if you had XP you could go over 512mb of ram, you can't with ME.
If you go the XP route, test your computer first for driver and hardware compatibility here.

| Hi caji, are you saying that you uninstalled and reinstalled the program?? If you uninstall, I would go in and del all directories (folders) left, then do a clean install. Sounds like a panel that is used during startup...probably your default flight, is corrupted. You may also have to go into registry via regedit and del all references to Flight Sim 9 before reinstall. If you do this, prior to editing the registry, export the current copy to your desktop. If something goes wrong, you can reboot to Safe Mode and double-click the saved registry to restore it. You can also create a restore point prior to registry diving...One way around the above is just change the defauly path to something else during the fresh install. This will solve all the above steps.........Good Luck, rob |
