Agree  ...FS9 shots are much better than FSX ones.But with add-ons.
A fair comparison would be both with the defaults.
And yes this Desert Brown(or yellow)color is a little annoying as a ground choice for the entire world. 
Excellent shots BTW.

They are comparable shots, they both look very good. However, nearly all FsX scenery you see at this point is
default MS - solotwo's shots represent 3+ years of modding.
For myself, I'll just go ahead and start climbing the next level.

I'm sure something will be released to alter the desert textures around the airports. It can't be that hard to alter.

Yes but it is still an add-on
