Since you don't give us the exact message all I can do is guess.
When you go to fly in the menu and it's tells you that certain gauges won't work just say OK.

    Sorry about that
    The full message is

Flight Simulator was unable to load someAircraft or software, you can continue to use Flight Simulator but this Aircraft and Software will be disabled File Gauges\DC8.GAU

Does that make it clearer what is wrong

Bad or old gauge not compatible with FS9, say yes and use it anyway.
Look to see if there is a fix.
If it bothers you, go into the main gauge folder and delete it, I always say yes unless I keep getting that warning.

    Thanks for the full message.

That's odd! I also get those kinda mesagges but once I click OK they disappear. Maybe you should delete the gauge. Confused

Right, delete it or at times the entire folder of gauges you loaded from that one aircraft are each giving you separate messages.
Once it's accepted it won't ask the next time you fly.

I went in to gauges and deleted that offending gauge and it now works but I don't have the gauges in the centre panel

He must have used old gauges, email him and tell him your problem, maybe he now has a fix for it.
