Go to simvation.com and look for 'fsxhelicopters'. You have two pages to choose from.

hovercontrol.com is a special helicopter site with fantastic choppers. You just have to make sure that the one you're about to download is compatible with FSX. Cool

First the gauges probably won't work, and you may have other problems with it not showing up.
Your better off using FSX in FSX.

    Welcome to the forums sgtrwmartin!

Oh yes you can - you can do almost anything you want to... but it's certainly not advisable.
Assuming we're still on the subject of helicopters, I'd strongly suggest to go to hovercontrol and look for models that are FSX compatible. You can trust that the hovercontrol are up to scratch and won't cause you any problems. Just make sure you read the file description and that it contains 'compatible with FSX' ...or something to that effect.

Thanks for the welcome.... Been a member of Fly Away since I was overseas and couldnt fly MSFS online- and could barely keep speeds to d/l the add ons--- just never posted.... Anyways, Ive been to hovercontrol and found their choices for FSX limited compared to the ones for FS9 and etc.... Im really looking for a realistic AH-64 Apache/or the longbow, Cobra (Marine gunship), Blackhawk, C17, and a C130 (Im a paratrooper in the Army, so I jump from blackhawks, c17's and c130s- would love to fly em in fsx) but cant find any.... I would go buy some of the addons but being on a limited salary in the military, its tough to justify to the wife why I spent money on Fly away to d/l em and now I have to buy em, lol.

What happened to the good old days when women weren't allowed to make monetary decisions? Very Happy

Considering everything you've just said here are the hard facts: If you don't already have it, buy FS2004 and stop losing hair until the freeware developers have had a chance to catch up with FSX. A copy of FS2004 will cost you a fraction of the price of some of the payware add-ons for FSX.

'Realistic' aircraft, well, we as individuals have to decide what we deem realistic or not. I like the hovercontrol Blackhawk for FS2004 - there are modified versions available. C-17s are available at avsim for FS2004. The freeware SimShed C-130 is by many regarded superior to the payware CaptainSim effort.

Regarding availability and choice of all kinds of aircraft AND scenery such as Oil-rig platforms, ships with heli platforms to land on and freeware carriers, FS2004 still rules and will for some time to come.
Check out the screenshots category for FS2004 here and look for 'Welshflyer's' contributions and you'll see what I mean.

Don't be a stranger now and let us know what you're doing Cheers!
