Hello!
I'm thinking of buying an HP Pavilion Desktop. The system have:
Windows Vista 64bit version
4.0GB system RAM
500GB Hardrive
NVIDIA Geforce 128Mb graphics memory (but I'm going to upgrade it to 512Mb)
2.4 Duo processor
Does anybody know if this system can smoothly handle FSX in high settings?
I appreciate all suggestions! |

Thanks!
Just to clarify this. Do I have to look for a different system or I only need to get 8800gt video card? |

FSX is more CPU orientated than video card.
That's a fine card but get the best CPU you can afford.
With Vista 64bit it'll recognize 4 gigs ram, good for the future.

I recommend getting 8800GT but keep another slot so you can have 2 of them and maybe upgrade to about 3GHz Duo processor or maybe a Quad Processor _________________

FSX doesn't handle dual core processors all that well, never mind a quad core!
That system looks pretty good, except for the graphics card. (I'm guessing at that since you don't give the specific model of the card, but 128mb says it's probably not the best. The only way to increase your gfx ram is to get a new card.)
I agree with the guy above though, an 8800 gt with 512 megs of ram or so will do fine. Nice thing is that nvidia has been pumping out new cards lately, so even though the 8 series is fairly new their prices have come down a bit.
By the way, when i say "fine" i mean fine, not great. Unlike most games where it's your GFX card, in FSX Your processor will be what limits your performance. Get the fastest one you can. 2.4ghz dual core will do okay, but you'll have to keep autogen and AI traffic turned down pretty far. |

Get it custom, its so much better and cheaper. For $600 someone got a computer that runs Crysis on full.
