| has anyone seen the movie "Stealth" yet? a VERY good movie. so here's my question: is anyone developing the Stealth jets that they were flying in the movie? i'm talking in particular to the piloted ones, not the AI one. |

Sony Pictures... they don't give much away, do they. The media player is the size of a thumbnail
Anyway, the thing is called the 'Talon', looks pretty mean, a bit like the Gaoulds craft out of Star Gate, is super intelligent and can operate off a carrier...WOW!
A wee picture - I hope Sony isn't gonna have the FBI knocking on my door

I very much doubt that anyone has begun to develop either the manned or the AI beasts yet. _________________

i'm looking for the piloted jets, not the AI. though the AI jet has VSTOL and one part in the movie hinted that the Talons (non-AI) maybe had VSTOL, but we never actually saw them use it. the AI craft used VSTOL several times through the movie. the previews of the movie don't do the movie justice. the movie is WAY better than the previews. they just didn't want to give too much away about the movie. if you haven't seen it, it's on DVD.
if i have to learn how to make planes for FS2004 myself just to fly the Talon, then i guess that's what i'll have to do |

No, that's not the same Talon. I'll see if I can dig up some pics. I would love to be able to fly that plane also. Aircraft with forward-swept wings rule! |

Edit: Just ran aacross this site while googling for Switchblade. It's a couple of stills from Stealth.
http://cryptome.org/unknown-jet.htm
Sweet! If I knew more about 3d modeling and building the files for a plane in FS2004 I'd be on it right now. Just in the past week or two I've started playing around with GMax so I'm not quite up to it just yet.
That site you posted has some nice views to work with though. Just needs a little cosmetic work to make it look like a Talon. In the next few days I'll see if I can get anywhere in building a model. Anyone got some good tutorial links on how the craft should be setup?
And a bit of history...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junkers_Ju_287
The Junkers Ju-287, the first aircraft (that I know of) with forward-swpet wings. |

i can't believe they built real prop planes for that aircraft carrier. wonder how they got those props (F/A-37) on and off the carrier. probably assembled and disassebled on the carrier. they sure didn't fly them! but then again, as real as they look in those pictures you posted, you may just never know! lol |
