You have to set your VERTICAL SPEED as well. _________________

You seem to be having problems with some basics here. I'm assuming you're running FS2002. As I don't have it installed at the moment I am unable to explore that sim.
However... there is a brilliant tuorial for the default 737 in FS2002 available here.
Make sure you study it thoroughly, it also explains every aspect of the AP.  _________________
