This was done on a P4 2.8 GHz, 512 MB RAM (128 MB shared with on board Intel GFX) Most of the settings were medium and traffic was minimal.

FSX will force me to get a better computer. Rolling Eyes

Shocked Something tells me my 2.6Ghz, 1.5gig RAM and Geforce 5200 won't get along well with FSX Rolling Eyes

Edit: The scenery is looking quite nice though - about the same as my FS9 with some freeware mesh. Thumbs Up!

You will have better results than I'm having. RAM is the key factor. I checked and even at moderate settings FSX is using over 900 MB, which means a lot gets swapped to disk on my machine.

    EDIT: Make that 600.

Here are some more odds and ends.

I will definitely be getting a better computer after Vista is relased.

Nice looking glass cockpit, albeit in a small Cessna Wink

Actually, the cockpit was in the Mooney. Laughing

I have another set of screen shots with the aircraft shown as it should be.

    I'll have them up soon.

There is no reason to set the aircraft slider lower than...ultra high. It does not appear to hit frame rates.

Thought you weren't going to buy it yet. Wink

But apparently someone has switched your FSX with FS9. Shocked

I figured I'd get some evidence of their selling it before the release date, but it appears to be so wide spread that I can't believe it is happening without MS' approval.

Ummm, I haven't turned up the sliders too much yet.

I hear you. Some suggestions from what I've seen. You can move the a/c slider up without taking much of a performance hit. On a not-so-super system, keep the water textures fairly low. Bumping them up won't do much, in any event. If you play around with the settings, you can save each set up and load it later if your most recent change doesn't work out. That is a nice feature. As usual, 2-D cockpits use less resources than 3-D. As much as you may want to bump up the mesh sliders, on a low-end system, the results will probably not be good.

On a happier note, I discovered that KEDW now has both the paved and dry lake bed runways. Also, since you like DC-3s, you will probably like the Grumman Goose. It is a nice a/c.

Even though you have a weak machine the differences between FSX and FS9 are obvious Exclamation

    Thanks for the feedback Crash.
    Thumbs Up!

P.S. This Grumman... Love Love Love

Thanks, I'll try a few of those ideas. I had the water up and the aircraft also.
Try fall, the trees at the end of KSEA are beautiful.
