Flight Simulator 2002

If you are into Flight Simulator 2002, you will find information about the software here. Flight Simulator 2002 is a very popular program, manufactured by Microsoft. It was built as an update to the 2002 version, which was also well received.

VasFMC was recently released by VAS. This particular release is a public test version. Individuals are able to customize the A319 and A329 models of Project Airbus. The Lockheed U-2S was released by AlphaSim. The plane can be used in both Flight Simulator 2004 and Flight Simulator 2002. For those of you who don’t know. The Lockheed U-2S is a version of the well known spy plane, referred to as the Dragon Lady.

In other news related to the Flight Simulator 2002, replacement 2D panels for the Beechcraft Baron 58 and the King Air 350, both FS2002 aircraft, have been made available by Friendly Panels. These have been designed so that pilots can get the most gauges possible on the primary window so that pop-ups are no longer necessary.

For additional information about Flight Simulator 2002, visit this page as we will be updating it as new information about it is released. This includes add-ons and company announcements.

Concorde for FS2002

Posted on Mon, 30 Jun 2003 12:24:16 GMT (21097 reads)

I'm sure that many of us were disappointed when Microsoft removed Concorde from FS2002. There were many options for the budding Concorde pilot to take; Payware, Freeware or DIY. Luckily, one of the best freeware Concorde distributions by Mario Coehlo is now available for download. Mario Coehlo's Concorde for FS2002, as featured in PC Pilot magazine is now available for download, the package, totalling 12MB is a complete compilation of aircraft, panel, sounds and textures for ease of install - no configuration is required.

The aircraft has been based on the native FS2000 model, but with major adaptations and improvements for the FS2002 architecture. The model includes a great realistic panel, with full functionality - including the new ATC features available in FS2002, that were not present in FS2000. The aircraft includes complete working undercarriage, moving rudders, ailerons, spoilers - and the famous 'swivel nose'. The nose can be tilted in increments to suit the types of flight that Concorde endures. Mario Coehlo's Concorde for FS2002 can be downloaded by clicking here.

P-3C Orion P-3C Orion

Posted on Sun, 22 Jun 2003 22:08:14 GMT (19391 reads)

In early 1957 a strange aircraft took to the skies over Burbank California.  The craft had four turboprop engines with four-blade propellers, and a wing that seemed too small for the airplane.  The wing, in actuality, had enough wing area; most of it was just covered up by the engine exhaust, which extended past the trailing edge of the wing.  It was called the Lockheed L-188A Electra, named after the other successful Electra that that same company made in the 1930’s.  Click here to read Evan Levesque's complete review of the P-3C Orion for FS2002.
