This package contains two repaints for Jens B. Kristensen's Douglas DC-4 and C-54 v3.0. Featured is the C54B (modified to DC-4 standard) G-ANYB in the colors of Air Charter Ltd London and of British United Airways. In January 1955 Freddie Lakers Air Charter acquired the C-54B-DC for transport work in Germany and trooping flights from Stansted to Cyprus. In 1959 the aircraft was moved from trooping flights to service on the route Southend to Calais flying passengers on one-day trips without a passport till 1 July 1960 when Air Charter was merged into British United. From 21 September 1960 till 3 October 1960 G-ANYB was used for a rigorous flying test program before it was converted to the first Aviation Traders ATL. 98 Carvair car-ferry aircraft. These are textures only; requires DC4_V30X.ZIP. Repaints by Maarten Brouwer.

description=Built a C-54B-1-DC Skymaster at Chicago, IL, for the USAAF (c/n 10528), powered by four 1,350 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2000-7 engines. After WW2 struck off and converted to DC-4 standard by Douglas (with 1,450 hp Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp 2SD13-G engines). Delivered to Braniff Airways. The C-54B-DC was bought on 24 January 1955 by Air Charter (renamed British United Airways in July 1960), registered G-ANYB and named 'Atalanta'. By then she had 1,450 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2000-7M2 engines. In 1960 G-ANYB was chosen to become the prototype Carvair. After delivery to Aviation Traders at Southend, UK, she went through a rigourous flight test programme from 21 September till 3 October 1960 to gather as much information as possible about the flight characteristics of the C-54, which was crucial for the flight testing of the Carvair. Conversion started on 4 October 1960. Her first flight as a Carvair took place from Southend on 21 June 1961. Original textures by Jens B. Kristensen. Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.
