Editorial

This great little project was one that I picked up and noticed immediately how much work it provides. Having been lucky enough to visit the “Leonardo da Vinci” airport in Rome, this felt really interesting to come and visit in the simulator.

Paying Attention to the Detail

The detail, given it’s for FS2004, is really impressive indeed. It brings in landmarks from the time the product was created as well as impressive new textures, better airport scaling and placement, and genuine locations of each building.

Best of all, the product goes that extra mile in offering unique buildings that suit the airports overall look. With this you get a much fresher looking airport that has real buildings from the ATC tower to the runway lights and hangers.

Everything has received a minor touch-up in this mod, and it’s very much worth having on that basis. The detail and the overall operation of the airports design is something that I have to applaud. Even with so many years having passed since this was first created, it’s an excellent piece of scenery.

A Golden Oldie

If you are still using FS2004 then you absolutely need to get this downloaded and tried out. The work and the commitment to the actual layout of the airport is very impressive, and goes a long way.

I felt really comfortable flying in and out of this airport, as each little feature looked just as I had expected. Even with the hardware limitations of FS2004 this really does go some way to improving the airport beyond what used to stand here.

As a worthwhile add-on that brings the airport much closer to real-life, it’s a great way to make FS2004 look and feel even better. It’s a solution that maximizes the ease of use of the simulator, whilst emphatically capturing each minor missing detail.
