Douglas C-47 (Dutch) MLD Biak 1960. This file contains alternative textures for the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and team. These textures depict the aircraft with registration 019 from 321 squadron from the Royal Dutch Navy as it looked in 1960 when it was stationed at Biak Dutch New Guinea (currently Irian Jaya - Indonesia). C-47 Skytrain Exterior Base Pack 1.0 required (C47BASEPACK.ZIP), optionally also the interior model tweak (C47_INTERIOR.ZIP). This repaint was created by using the original paint kit released with the aircraft. By Huub Vink.
In 1952 this aircraft was purchased from the Belgian Air Force and flew in Dutch military service until 1962. It was sold to Air Vietnam where it flew with the registration number XV-NIK. Although the aircraft was owned by the Royal Netherlands Air Force it was used by the Netherlands Naval Aviation Service (MLD) at Biak and registered as 019. The large white B on the tai shows the aircraft has Biak as home base.
To use these textures you should have Manfred Jahn's Douglas C-47 installed in FSX.
1. Unzip to a temporary location.
2. Copy the folders "texture.019" to your "Douglas_C-47" sub-directory in FSX.
3. Copy and paste the following entry into the aircraft.cfg file inside the "Douglas_C-47" sub-directory (replacing the XX with the next number in line after your last existing paint scheme - if the last paint scheme already on the list is fltsim.6, this should be fltsim.7)
[fltsim.XX] <== do not forget to change the XX into the next number in squence.

I want to thank Manfred Jahn and his team for creating this beautiful model. For this repaint the excellent paintkit by Manfred Jahn and team was used. Pictures from the real aircraft were supplied by Rob Schleiffert a former air trafic controller from the Netherlands Naval Aviation Service.
It free as it is and should remain free. It didn't harm my computer(s) but the use of this repaint in entirely at your own risk.
