FSX Astor Column Scenery

Scenery Astor Column. Presenting Astor column JJAC. The Astoria Column was erected in 1926 at an elevation of 600 feet atop Coxcomb Hill, the location of the first permanent American settlement west of the Rockies. It has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since 1974, and was refurbished in 1995. This impressive Oregon Coast historical monument is the only one of its kind in the world! The column displays 14 scenes commemorating important events in the history of Astoria in chronological order. The mural scrolls around the 125-foot-high structure in an upward column. An interior 164-step spiral staircase leads to the top of a viewing platform with spectacular views. By Robert Lacy.

I made three gift/snack shops even though I believe there is only one, but then I got carried away having fun. Check each out in slew mode very closely. The people running the shops are two infamous people, one friend of mine, and myself. I'm the old buzzard.

I made a start point called JJAC so it would show up in the start menu. This will place you right at the tower. You can also start at Astoria and fly up to it. There is room to land with an ultra-lite.

The tower and the commemorative table in front can be seen at night.

Installation:

1. Unzip this to a temp folder.
2. Take the entire folder (which has the scenery folder and texture folder inside already) and copy or move to Microsoft Fight Simulator X\addon scenery. (Drag and drop works well for me.)
3. Go into the game and activate in the scenery library in the usual manor and click ok.

Once done go back to Free flight and change location and in the middle window type JJAC and fly now.

Or go to Astoria and fly inland, elevation about 600 feet. You'll find it. At night you'll really find it.
