Alternative textures for the Douglas C47 by Manfred Jahn and team. These textures depict the C-47 from the Dutch Military Aviation Museum in Soesterberg. This aircraft has been on display in front of the museum for over 25 years. C-47 Skytrain Exterior Base Pack 1.0 required (C47BASEPACK.ZIP), optionally also the interior model tweak (C47_INTERIOR.ZIP). This repaint was created by using the original paint kit released with the aircraft. By Huub Vink.
This file contains alternative textures for the freeware Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and team. These textures depict the C-47 from the Dutch Military Aviation Museum in Soesterberg. This aircraft has been on display in front of the museum for over 25 years.
This aircraft actually never flew with the Royal Netherlands Air Force, but was received from the Royal Danish Air Force in the early eighties. It has been resprayed in the colours from the RNAF X-5 as it flew from Biak (Dutch New Guinea) in the period 1959-1962. This aircraft has been in display in front of the Military Aviation Museum in Soesterberg for over 25 years, but has now been resprayed in 20 squadron ML-KNIL colours and is currently in storage.
To use these textures you should have Manfred Jahn's Douglas C-47 installed in FSX.
1. Unzip to a temporary location.
2. Copy the folders "texture.x5" to your "Douglas_C-47" sub-directory in FSX.
3. Copy and paste the following entry into the aircraft.cfg file inside the "Douglas_C-47" sub-directory (replacing the XX with the next number in line after your last existing paint scheme - if the last paint scheme already on the list is fltsim.6, this should be fltsim.7)
Title=Douglas C-47 X5
ui_variation=Royal Dutch Air Force X-5
ui_typerole=Twin Engine Prop
description= C-47 from 336 squadron Royal Dutch Air Force Biak - New Guinea 1961
I want to thank Manfred Jahn and his team for creating this beautiful model. For this repaint the excellent paintkit by Manfred Jahn and team was used.
