Editorial

The Boeing 737-800 is an aircraft that I share a lot of love for. Having spent many an hour flying on one both in person as a passenger and via simulation as a pilot, I greatly respect everything they stand for. However, this fiction re-paint of the Boeing 737-800 is a nice touch to add to your simulator. While it’s based on a British Airways design that I’ve never seen, it’s nice to see what it would look like if it actually existed.

Made by the excellent Tomi Koivunen, I was a huge fan of the new textures that he had put together. While it uses the same old features and model as the default Boeing 737-800, the new textures are a lovely little touch.

A Must for Boeing Fans

Having new liveries to take to the skies in is a nice touch, and makes it pretty easy to make a flight feel different. Knowing who you are flying for also can make it easier to plan new journeys. Well, how many of you have flown a Boeing 737-800 from BA? This opens up a wealth of opportunities for new, fun and fictional flights to take place.

This is the textures that you need, with the original model already included in your simulator. All you need to do is download the textures, extract the .brai file to your B737-800 folder in FSX. Then, you need to add the following content provided to you by the developer.

It’s easy to work with, and the attention to detail on the design is very impressive indeed. If you are looking for a fun way to make Boeing aviation fun once again, add some new liveries. Small aesthetic changes can be all you need to make a ‘boring’ flight fun again!

Overall, I’d be happy to recommend these. It’s nothing major and hardly re-inventing the wheel, but Tomi has done a great job regardless.

Is it working still? It doesn't show up on mine!

Is this for p3d? At the top it says it is and at the bottom of the page in capital letters it says no!

If yes, what 737 should I install as d3p doesn’t have a default 737. I have an Ifly 737. Is that any good?

Regards

Martin

You have to go in the 737 folder and then open "aircraft.cfg" with an editor of your choice and then just copy in there the text. Then change the x to a number which you haven't used yet.
