The Digital Aviation CRJ Team has just released a set of new screen shots of the exterior model of their upcoming CRJ-200. The CRJ-200 is currently in development and has yet to enter the testing phase. Therefore no release date can be given at this time.
The Canadair Challenger Business jets inspired the CRJ100 and CRJ200 to be developed and this in turn inspired the Flight Simulator software CRJ200. What is interesting about these planes is their size, wider than other business jet planes and accommodating fifty passengers. These planes have a greater wing span, larger fuel capacity and gear for landing that measures up to the increase in load.
These planes are popular with several airlines in the United States such as Pinnacle Airlines, PSA Airlines or Comair, Canadian airlines such as Jazz, the Spanish airline Air Nostrum or the German Airline Lufthansa Cityline. Fleet size for most of the listed airlines is around sixty or seventy planes which speaks of the confidence that larger airlines have in these planes.
Developing Flight Simulation software for this handsome business jet is exciting. Aviation enthusiasts can take to the skies with the controls of the CRJ200 via the software that is underway. The CRJ200 incorporates all the elements of the CRJ100 except it includes more highly efficient engines. The software being developed for flight simulation using this aircraft is using the 'Rolls Royce' of business jets to let users have the most elite privileges of the virtual skies.
Airplanes of this size are used as 'connection carriers' as long as they limit their passenger load to fifty. This is due to a pilots' union contract which is considering the safety and convenience of all concerned. One thing that has happened with the Flight Simulator software plans for the CJ200 is the development of a Flight Management System Trainer by the Aeroism Training Services company.
These training programs include single or dual screen options, classroom, computer lab or distance learning options, a lesson plan editor, a simulation control that has various simulations speeds, repositioning, snapshots, ground resets and freezes and an optional 3-D simulated aircraft hardware. There are also maintenance and emergency functions built into the formatting for a rich learning experience.
Digital Aviation of Germany has meanwhile developed software simulation for the CRJ700 and the CRJ900, which are larger versions of the CRJ200. This special software features an advanced virtual cockpit with realistic replicas of each separate model of the CRJ planes. Complete system simulations of hydraulic, bleed or electric systems and other items such as the APU or anti-icing functions. The shared cockpit can be directly shared or shared by means of Internet connection. Active pilots helped develop the flight dynamics of this software to assure users of trustworthy simulations of the aircraft's behavior.
