Aircraft vanish when forced to wait a few minutes

Hi,
How can I stop aircraft waiting to take-off, from vanishing (ie timing out).
It's crazy how after a few minutes of waiting at the runway, the aircraft disappear because two aircraft in a row land and delay them a few minutes.
Can the wait time be extended to 20 minutes or something? Is there a way to do this?
