description=Il modello 45 è il primo aeromobile Learjet completamente nuovo da quando Bill Lear costruì il suo primo modello 23. Sebbene abbia l'aspetto di un Learjet, il modello 45 ha soltanto la metà dei componenti del modello 35, grazie a un notevole progresso nella progettazione. I parametri in base al quale è stato costruito il modello 45 richiedevano le prestazioni del Learjet 35, la semplicità di manovra del Learjet 31A, e un maggiore spazio in cabina rispetto agli aerei prodotti dalla concorrenza.
