Editorial

As a big fan of the old Fokker 100/70, this package was something that I came across and instantly found an appeal within it. FS 2004 – and 2002 – are both regular treats of mine that I revert to when using an older machine so it can be nice to take this little trip down memory lane whilst also getting to benefit from the sterling work carried out by others to bring to life the wonderful nature of this aircraft.

The Fokker 100/70 is an aircraft that I have a huge amount of time for – but its equivalents for older simulators is not up to the standard that I am used to.

What I did find, though, was that the aircraft itself has been revamped with this package. The first thing that stood out to me was the Callouts; they add another layer of realism to the whole thing and make it a fair bit more enjoyable to witness than before.

It makes the entire cockpit feel alive and also makes the aircraft itself just have another little layer of authenticity. Sure, the callout feature does not exactly improve my flight skills but it’s just another lovely little aesthetic touch.

The next thing that really impressed me was the introduction of the new custom panels. These have been delicately and expertly taken care of and they do a wonderful job of creating a system which is a lot of fun to take part in.

The Fokker 100/70 is one of those aircraft with a cheeky and chirpy history, and the cockpit will certainly give you that impression with these new panels and gauges. They look excellent and do a wonderful job of selling the interior to you – even when used on the comparatively dated FS2004 system it still looks awesome.

Another big addition here has been the creation of retractable stairs – it’s one of those little things that most people would simply dismiss but when you have it all added in here today, it all comes together in the right way.

It looks wonderful and does a great job of selling and promoting the realism that this package has tried so hard to introduce – it really does do a wonderful of making this aircraft far more welcoming and much more authentic. If you like those little details to be included no matter what your style is, I recommend starting here.

I was really impressed with the work and commitment put in here by the team – they done a great job of making something that is a lot of fun to be a part of and which does a spectacular job in promoting the aircraft in the manner that it’s worthy of.
