North American T-2C Buckeye upgrade delivers a refined classic jet trainer for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, rebuilt from Kazunori Ito’s original model with a refreshed 2D panel, included sounds, and a real-panel reference photo. Updated aircraft.cfg and air file tuning improves weights, fuel, lighting, handling, tailhook alignment, and reference speeds.

North American T-2C Buckeye on runway.
This T-2C Buckeye was originally designed by Kazunori Ito for FS2002/FS2004. It has been extensively modified to work in FSX, complete with a redesigned panel layout. See separate 'New ReadMe" file in the panel file.
With the invaluable aid of the tutorial written by Bob Chicilo, I have made a ton of changes. In the Aircraft.cfg file these include:
-Correcting the empty and maximum weights
-repositioning the CG
-changing fuel quantities to more accurately reflect the real Buckeye's fuel load
-added "Flight_Tuning" to the Aircraft.cfg file
-adjusted the wheel positions and heights
-stopped the aircraft from burying its nose in the tarmac on acceleration
-adjusted both static height and pitch
-properly positioned tail hook and adjusted the length
-moved engine thrust to proper location
-adjusted turbine engine inlet and thrust to achieve proper maximum speed
-set reference speeds to specs
-added an autopilot (don't know if the real Buckeye had one!)
-set eyepoint to proper location
-added a startup effect
-changed the nav lights and beacons to scale them more to this aircraft
Changes to the Air file include:
-elimination of files not needed for FSX
-took out files in the 600 range and replaced with file 1501
-set thrust and intake area to match Aircraft.cfg file
-lowered setting of file 1503 so aircraft won't creep forward with brakes off
Sounds like a lot but as an old retired guy, what else have I got to occupy my time???
The only other thing I would have liked to correct is that both the spoiler and tailhook functions have been linked to the forward slash (/) key. Apparently, this is incorporated in the model file and I don't know how to fix it. If you do, feel free and please share that correction with the rest of us!

-Place the "T-2C Buckeye" file in your FSX file under Sim Objects/Airplanes
-Place the contents of the "Effects" file in your FSX file under "Effects". Whether to overwrite what you already have is your choice.
-Place the contents of the "Gauges" file in your FSX file under "Gauges" Again, it is up to you whether you overwrite gauges already there.
