FSX Engine Smoke Effect For T-2C Buckeye

Engine smoke effects enhance the North American T-2C Buckeye with convincing twin exhaust trails that add atmosphere in flight and during takeoff. Designed for FSX, it requires Bill Lowe’s T-2CFSX.ZIP update and the T2CFSX-FIX.ZIP sound fix, with SmokeSystem entries tuned for accurate placement.

Installation:

  • Copy and paste the "fx_smoke_f6.fx" file into your FSX "Effects" folder. It may be there already, so look first.
  • Copy and paste all of the [SMOKESYSTEM] info. below into your Buckeye's "aircraft.cfg" file. I pasted mine between the [keyboard_response] section and the [autopilot] section, with good results.
  • Press the "I" key while flying your Buckeye to enjoy a smoking good flight!

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
