This freeware package introduces an AOM-branded Douglas DC-10-30 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 enthusiasts, developed by SGA. It accurately reflects the tri-engine widebody’s performance and aesthetics, offering a detailed simulation of the real-world aircraft’s notable features, such as the extended wingspan, high-capacity fuel tanks, and extra center main landing gear. AOM operated this DC-10 variant as a passenger aircraft with distinct liveries, and this add-on precisely represents those visual details and specifications.
Notable Tri-Jet Engineering
The DC-10-30 is a long-range evolution of the original DC-10 family. It incorporates a ten-foot wingspan extension to accommodate higher fuel loads and enhanced thrust. This modification significantly improves potential range and improves its load-carrying ability. SGA’s virtual adaptation captures these aerodynamic upgrades, ensuring a realistic simulation of climb performance, cruising efficiency, and distinctive handling. Long-haul routes were commonly flown by the Series 30 due to its extra endurance, which this add-on emulates with accurate fuel consumption and thrust management characteristics.
Dedicated Center Main Gear
One highlight of the Series 30 design is the presence of a center main landing gear, added to manage heavier weight distribution. This feature allows operators to maximize payload while maintaining safe ground handling performance. Within this simulation, you can explore how that gear assembly influences takeoff stance and landing stability. SGA’s developers meticulously rendered these mechanical aspects, ensuring a deeper level of authenticity.

Realistic Liveries and Additional Variations
This package arrives with the AOM exterior paint configuration and also provides an AOM Cubana hybrid version. Both repaints showcase fine details, from cabin door markings to the tri-color tail scheme. Each livery reflects the original airline branding found on actual aircraft. SGA’s texturing work reproduces subtle design aspects, like fuselage lines and window placements, to intensify immersion.
Preconfigured Aircraft Entries

description=The Series 30 offered considerably improved payload and range capability with increased fuel capacity and thrust, which necessitated an increase of 10 feet in wingspan and the addition of a center main landing gear assembly. Most popular of all the variants, a total of 206 Series 30s were built, including 27 -30CFs, 4 extended range -30ERs, and 12 pure freighter -30Fs. Unlike the Series 10, most -30s were ordered without the optional lower deck galley to allow increased cargo capacity. First revenue flight for a Series 30ER was on December 15, 1972 with Swissair. The Series 30CF (Convertible Freighter) was first certified in March 1973 and placed into revenue service in April 1973.
