Overview of Paine Field.
This is a "labor of love" project for me. I took my flight lessons there at Regal Air - Thanks, Ben!!! and this airport will always have a special place in my heart. Where else can you share a runway with a 747 or 767 or Boeing Stratocruiser (well, before it drowned in Puget Sound anyway) and not be in Class B?
There is ample parking for GA aircraft. I tried to be as accurate as possible with my placement of parking spots as well as the parking designations (West Ramp, East Ramp, etc.). However, although there is a Central Ramp at Paine there is no such designation available in AFCAD, so I named it North Ramp instead.
I also labeled the parking spots for aircraft that park at Regal Air, which is a training/rental business on the field on the North (really Central) Ramp. The spots for the Regal 172s are labeled REG. The 182 slots are labeled REG8 and the slot for the Piper Seneca Twin is labeled REGT. The rest of the GA slots around the airport are simply labeled GA.
Bizjets also fly in and out of Paine and I have labeled their slots as BIZ.
There are also several parking slots for the big iron since Boeing customers take deliveries of their planes here. Major facilities, owned by the Goodrich Corporation, do work on those planes also.
But Paine Field is definitely a training airport, and to that end I am including a Flight Plan file that can be used with Traffic Tools and the existing aircraft in FS2004. Unless you have changed your numbering system this file will allow for traffic with the stock 172s, 182s, the Learjet and the Beech Baron (gamely taking the place of the Piper Seneca). All of the aircraft tail numbers correspond with real aircraft that fly in and out of Paine on a daily basis.
I have not included a flight plan for the heavies because I don't have one built yet. When I do I'll be sure to upload it.
