Antonov An-22 gets a focused refresh for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, improving handling and overall realism with updated flight dynamics and refined aircraft data. The package also adds DDS wheel textures for reliable display, plus included smoke effects and a custom sound set to bring the heavy-lift turboprop to life.

This update includes corrections to make this aircraft work better than the original version. DDS imagery is incorporated to show the wheels in all FSX sims. The dynamics have been improved for more realism. Includes smoke (separate folder) and sound. Original design by Enrique Del Rosario. Original sound by Aaron R. Swindle. Flight dynamics and data by Douglas E. Trapp.

Installation:
Unzip the zipped folder to a safe place ... somewhere you will remember. Go to that folder area and Copy/Paste only the Antonov AN-22 folder and its subfolders to your Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes folder. Run FSX and locate the aircraft in your aircraft list. Make sure you are not parked anywhere that may have obstacles.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
