FS2004 Airbus A-319-100, BruBird

This download contains a model of an Airbus A319-100, operated by Bru Bird. This model is for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, and will not work with Microsoft Flight Simulator X or any other version of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

To install, download this and extract the files to the airplane folder of your Microsoft Flight Simulator main install folder.

The Airbus A319-100 is part of the 320 series. It contains two turbofans and fly-by-wire technology. Launched in 1996, the A319 is a shrunken version of the A320 launched in the 1980s, carrying ten less passengers.

The A319 was able to break a record in 1997, flying from Winnipeg to Hamburg in 9 hours and five minutes. The A320 family has a cruising speed of around 828 km/h, and the A319 costs approximately $80.7 million.

A corporate jet version of the A319 exists, the A319CJ, capable of carrying 8 passengers at 41,000 feet for 6000 nautical miles. The A320 has become the fastest-selling commercial jet aircraft in the world as well as the best selling generation of aircraft, with over 20 airlines having placed orders, and there are currently over five thousand units in active service.

With its smaller size, the A319 is popular with cheap airlines such as EasyJet or RyanAir. Since 1988, Airbus has been in a competition with Boeing to see who between the A320 family and the Boeing 737 can deliver the most cargo. As of 2012, Airbus is in the lead in cargo per year.

Boeing’s 737 family and the A320 family as well as the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 actively compete against one another, and in recent years the long-standing Boeing 737 family has begun to see replacement by Airbus A320s.
