This repaint offers a dedicated Jas Air Antonov An-2 livery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 users wanting to expand their AI traffic collection with a classic biplane design. The Antonov An-2 originated as a Soviet-era single-engine utility aircraft, well-known for its robust airframe and short-field performance. Jas Air, in particular, benefits from the excellent payload capacity and slow-speed handling of this high-lift aircraft. Model by Rysiek Winawer, paint kit designed by Nikolai Samsonov, and repaint completed by Miloslav Wolf.
Distinctive Features of This Updated Livery
- Meticulous Exterior Textures: The included repaint showcases the OK-JIF registration under Jas Air branding, highlighting unique markings tailored to its cargo and charter heritage.
- AI-Ready Configuration: The repaint is optimized for automated traffic, retaining the proper animations and flight dynamics for seamless airfield operations.
- Freeware Base Model Compatible: You will need the freeware Antonov An-2 (RWAIAN2.ZIP) from Rysiek Winawer’s original release, ensuring correct geometry and animations for your AI environment.
Technical Notes and Performance Insights
This aircraft, often dubbed the world’s largest single-engine biplane, is powered by a dependable radial engine. Its spacious cabin and resilient landing gear make it ideal for hauling cargo into remote regions. Jas Air’s OK-JIF variant remains consistent with factory specifications, allowing realistic takeoff distances on short strips and offering respectable low-speed handling, even when fully loaded.

Essential Installation Steps
Note: This mod is a repaint only and does not include the base Antonov An-2 model. You will need to download the free model (RWAIAN2.ZIP) from the Fly Away Simulation library first.
- Place the new Texture folder inside your existing “RWAI An-2” directory (or similarly named folder) that houses the base model.
- Insert the following [fltsim.xx] entry into your aircraft.cfg file. Update “xx” sequentially to avoid skipped or duplicated numbers:
[fltsim.xx]
title=RWAI An-2 Jas Air OK-JIF
sim=RWAI_An-2v1.5_AI_ONLY

atc_airline=ANTONOV
atc_parking_types=MIL_CARGO
atc_parking_codes=AN2

Proper Configuration
- Ensure “sim=RWAI_An-2v1.5_AI_ONLY” remains unchanged to maintain AI compatibility.
- Double-check
ui_manufacturer
andui_type
entries to differentiate this variant from other aircraft in your hangar.
Once installed, this repaint for the Antonov An-2 should appear in your AI traffic schedules as the Jas Air OK-JIF variant. Model work by Rysiek Winawer, texture kit by Nikolai Samsonov, and final livery painting by Miloslav Wolf.
