Albuquerque International Sunport, Albuquerque, New Mexico (NM), USA. For default FS2004 scenery. By Allen "Mitch" Bagwell.
Made with AFCAD 2004. May only be used in Flight Simulator 2004.
Author's Note: I live in Albuquerque and have used the Sunport extensively. Modifications to the gates are based on notes taken inside the terminal, so I can vouch for the accuracy of this AFCAD file.
Allowances have been made since the default FS scenery reduced the proportional size of the airport and makes things scrunched.
All gates have been correctly named and coded to their proper airlines.
- Major: Southwest, Northwest, United, American, Continental, Delta, America West, Frontier (and their regionals).
- Stand-Alone Regionals: Mesa, Great Plains, Rio Grande Air.
A14, B7, and B9 are not used, even for overflow parking, because no airline currently leases them. I have coded them with "XXXX" so that they won't be snapped up. Terminal A is very out of scale (shorter) compared to the real airport. As a result, the gates toward the end of the terminal sit farther away from the airport building in order to accommodate them all with proper space. Hopefully this will be addressed once I learn how to do airport scenery. The Sunport is actually has an attractive adobe look with pinkish stucco. Delta (as of 10/28/2003) flies the largest commercial jet into KABQ, a 757-200 and parks at B10. All other gates at the main terminal are coded to medium size. Yes, the overflow for American, United, and Southwest really do sit out there. Delta's overflow is to the northwest of Terminal B and is only for CRJ aircraft.
The Sunport shares with Kirtland AFB. I have added four military combat aircraft parking spots for those who want to add in the four F-16s that regularly train around the base.
General Aviation parking is retained for Cutter Aviation and added near Kirtland AFB.
Cargo parking provided for FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
Numerous small fixes to the runways, including landing and take-off restrictions based on long observation of KABQ traffic patterns. More than 70% of all jet traffic uses 8/26 and the rest mostly uses 3/21. 3 and 17 are closed for take-off. 35 is closed for landing. 12/30 is closed completely.
