This comprehensive freeware package introduces a meticulously repainted Airbus A320-232 fitted with IAE (International Aero Engines) turbofans in the LAN Chile livery, registration CC-BAL. Created by Mohammed Al-Khalifa, it depicts a highly accurate rendition of a short-to-medium range aircraft frequently operated across South America. Moreover, this release includes the full Project Airbus base model, ensuring a seamless installation within Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
Distinctive Exterior Appearance
The crisp repaint showcases the characteristic tail design and fuselage markings attributed to LAN, a major Chilean carrier. All signage and logos are aligned to the real-world counterpart, reflecting the airline’s recognizable brand identity. Model-specific details include the wingtip fences, subtly illustrating the aerodynamic enhancements found on genuine A320-200 airframes.

Technical Attributes
The A320 family is known for its advanced fly-by-wire controls, efficient flight deck layout, and optimized handling. Its IAE engines deliver balanced thrust performance and reduced noise levels. Project Airbus faithfully reproduces these characteristics through precise animations, realistic fuselage geometry, and detailed cockpit windows. Such authenticity complements the simulation of real-world airline operations.
Configuration & Placement
- Move the entire “P A LAN Chile A320-232 IAE” folder into your “SimObjects/Airplanes” directory in your main FSX location.
- If you are missing certain visual or lighting effects, copy the files from the “Effects” folder into the respective “Effects” directory of your simulator.
Additional Notes
This repaint, combined with the free base model, delivers a fully self-contained livery for simmers seeking to replicate authentic Latin American routes. Because of its user-friendly setup, the aircraft is ready for immediate flight once installed. Mohammed Al-Khalifa has ensured that livery alignment, gloss levels, and identification marks remain consistent with the actual Chilean carrier’s fleet. This approach lends extra realism for anyone desiring accurate virtual operations. Have fun exploring the skies with this tidy package.

Thank you for bringing me this aircraft model. One of the principal models of the famous Airline in my country and the best in Latin America. To day is associated with another one from Brazil (TAM), not of my satisfaction. LAN CHILE IS ORIGINAL AND THE BEST. Regards,
German Diaz.
