Editorial

This excellent texture package is one that I would happily recommend to anyone who wishes to see a new look. Sometimes, it’s easy to get quite bored with the various selections we have inside a simulator. With this repaint of the old MD-83 though, these problems can be virtually left behind.

FS2004, after all, looks quite old in the modern palette. So it was nice to be able to hop on and enjoy a livery that was carefully designed and looked after with care by the developers. All in all, I would say that the developer has done an excellent job!

Fahim Safi has done a very good on making sure that the right colors and profile shine through here in style. The development and detail of the re-paint follows historical trends. The writing sits in the right location and the repainting of the textures goes a long way to improving the original depth of detail.

However, one thing that really stuck with me was the introduction of the reflective textures. Although something I tend to take for granted when using most simulators today as it’s common, it’s a wonderful addition. Compare the reflective add-on here with the non-reflective original. You should more or less instantly notice just how flat and old the original looks!

I was really impressed with this detail. The blank texture included, also, makes it easy to get creative. Having made my own liveries and also recreated some popular designs based on local airports and designs, I was really impressed with how easy this was to edit, implement and enjoy.

If you are looking for new liveries and don’t know where to start in terms of detail then this is without a doubt the easiest way for you to appreciate using this service for sure.
